STANDARD EDITING PRICES

Standard editing includes making more extensive corrections beyond spelling and grammar (e.g. corrections to formatting or tables and charts, and/or ensuring page numbers correspond to the table of contents). It also includes reading through the document and providing comments/making recommendations based on what the client requires. For instance, some clients request an ‘outside eye’ to read through a document and provide comments on structure rather than proofread.

7+ day turnaround
£9.00 per 1,000 words [up to 10k]
Example: editing an 8,000-word document costs £72.

£10.00 per 1,000 words [over 10k]
Example: editing a 12,000-word document costs £110.

3-6 day turnaround (max word count 30k words)
£15.00 per 1,000 words
Example: editing an 8,000-word document costs £120.

If clients require major rewrites and/or more detailed editing work beyond providing comments, please see my advanced editing prices below.

ADVANCED EDITING PRICES

Advanced editing includes more detailed or involved editing work such as rewriting parts of the document(s) or making other substantive changes such as reordering text (i.e. not simply providing comments/making recommendations). This price tier also includes work in which the client requires a combination of proofreading and editing (i.e. making corrections and making recommendations).

Prices for advanced editing and/or combined proofreading and editing work vary from project to project depending on the complexity and turnaround time. As such, I typically provide bespoke quotes after discussing clients’ requirements, looking at the document(s), assessing the job, and agreeing a timescale.
